Golden Rule: any product above the age of 10 is quite tough to explain and that is why: washing machines / dryers / fridges / dishwasher / air conditioners / microwaves are all built to last between 7-10 years. When you have a family and are extensively utilizing them (4 or more days a week) so 5-7 years is the standard.Link Appliance Repair Expert

Now I know people would leap up and down claiming they purchased the world’s most costly so – and-so brand that will last 20 years. Ok maybe they are right. I buy a dryer that is already more than 25 years old but it doesn’t mean it’s worth replacing when it finally breaks down for three very valid reasons: more costly models typically have very expensive components, less maintenance services than can fix them and are very, very expensive to repair as well.

This could well be the start of a very long and extremely costly trip to fix a component of a 10 year old computer. Let’s claim the calls for a new motor to replace your washing machine. The brand new motor once built is surrounded by pieces which are all 10 years old. So the old pump and gearbox that not be that successful when the new engine works perfect.

Although after 10 years one of the pieces is split it is fair hope that the remaining sections should be damaged to the same degree. Logic claims several of the pieces are made to work for a certain length of time in either system. Let’s face it, there’s no point in installing a 10-year-long motor and a 20-long engine!
