Mole is a clustered community of skin cells that have grown throughout the body. They can show up on the body anywhere including your face. At birth some moles appear while others can develop over time. These moles are normal and harmless; they usually need no medical attention. If you are looking for more tips, check out Dermatologist-West Dermatology Palm Springs.
However, if you observe changes in color , size and shape of your current moles; or if your moles are itchy and bleeding; you will need to contact your doctor for further examination, because these may be symptoms of skin or skin cancer disorders.
Occasionally moles get agitated when they appear on unattractive spots. Unseen moles that grow on one’s face affect one’s self worth. Because of constant strokes against the skin, moles which grow on the crease are found to be bothering. For such cases the only solution is the removal of the mole.
Yet you must first understand the protocols of how a mole is extracted before you continue with the possibility of extracting the mole. There are other things to consider like the price and the scarring problem. Some mole removal procedures may leave ugly scars that have been found to be more obvious than the mole itself.
There are a variety of successful mole removal procedures. We are working differently to rid themselves of the unwelcome mole. Some treat flat moles well, while others are intended for deep moles or protruding moles.
The most common method used to remove the moles is surgical procedure. Typically surgical technique is recommended for treating malignant mole, where the mole and its underlying abilities cells have to be completely removed. Get the mole examined before any removal procedure takes place. Usually the type of mole will determine which procedure to go through.
There are 3 ways to surgically extract a mole:
- Stitched excision
Use a surgical blade the mole and the underlying tissues are removed. The cut through go deep into the skin to fully remove the mole. It can normally leave a hole behind to be filled with stitches. The size of the hole will depend on how big the mole is and how deep the growth of the cells.
An electronic device called a cautery machine is used to melt the mole away. So in this procedure, stitches are not needed.
- Rasping form
Typically the shaving technique is used to extract the protruding mole where the mole is rasped off the skin surface and leaves behind the mole cells that underlie it. The downside to this approach is the mole’s ability to develop back when the cells underlying it are separated into large amounts.
Laser beam is used in cosmetic mole removal treatment to split the mole cells apart. The mole’s pigment cells can absorb the heat from the laser beam which causes the cells to break down. Throughout the healing process, the body must then consume those cells. This technique is only useful in treating fresh, small and flat moles, because the laser beam can not penetrate sufficiently deep into the layers of the skin.
In order to remove a mole completely, a minimum of 3 sessions is usually needed and this makes it an expensive choice for mole removal. The positive thing about this approach is that it isn’t as painful as surgery, with limited scarring.
